SUMMARY:The Light in the Library
DESCRIPTION:Tickets on sale now!!! \nPlease note\, ticket purchases will not be refunded\, so all sales are final. Please double check your cart before purchasing. Doors will be open 45 minutes before showtime. Light concessions will be available to purchase. \nTickets purchased online (up until 2 hours before showtime) are at a special discounted rate. Tickets at the door will be $12. \nOur Rising Stars show will be on August 16-18 at Christ United Church of Christ. \nDirected by: \nDirector – Chelsea Alleman \nAssistant Directors: Annie & Dominic DiScipio Ketler \nTalk about literature coming to life! Gabby suspects something is going on in the library at night\, so she enlists the help of her best friend\, Paige\, to do some sleuthing. Together they hide in the library after it closes and discover that it’s haunted by a silent ghost who leads them to a book containing a cryptic poem. As Paige and Gabby decipher the poem\, they find clues that enable them to bring fictional characters to life\, starting with Jim Hawkins from Treasure Island. Jim helps them summon even more characters from other books and soon\, the library is overrun with the denizens of literature — Humpty Dumpty\, the Mad Hatter\, Alice in Wonderland\, Anne of Green Gables\, Romeo\, and others. Things are definitely out of hand\, but they take a turn for the worse when — shiver me timbers! — Long John Silver is inadvertently brought to life. The pirate sets out on a thieving spree\, and he’s not afraid to use his cutlass to get what he wants! It’s up to Paige\, Gabby and Jim to defeat the pirate and return the characters to their stories before the library reopens. All that’s necessary for a happy ending is courage\, ingenuity… and one more character brought to life.

SUMMARY:Barbecuing Hamlet
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale NOW!\n \nPlease note\, ticket purchases will not be refunded\, so all sales are final. Please double check your cart before purchasing. Doors will be open 45 minutes before showtime. Light concessions will be available to purchase. \nTickets purchased online (up until 2 hours before showtime) are at a special discounted rate. Tickets at the door will be $12. Show will be held at Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville. \nDirectors: Glenn Gregory & Tracy Lemus Santos \nPERFORMANCE INFORMATION\nOur performances will be May 16-18\, 2024 (Thursday\, Friday & Saturday) at 7:00 pm at Christ United Church of Christ (310 N. Main St. Orrville\, OH 44667). \nPLAY INFORMATION \nGENERAL SYNOPSIS\nWouldn’t it be great fun to direct William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”? That was what Margo Daley always thought…until she is hired to do just that by the Peaceful Glen Memorial Players in their theater\, a renovated funeral home. They DO have a couple of conditions\, however. Margo has to make the play a melodrama\, so the audience will know when to throw the popcorn. And they can’t be too loud because the lady who lives under the theater bangs her cane on the stage. Oh\, and Margo has to insert the sponsors’ names into the play and\, by the way\, has to take place in the Old West. “And make sure the actors talk real loud because of all the noise the audience makes sucking their fingers\,” states one of the council members\, an occupational hazard brought about by them selling barbecue before the show. All kinds of eccentric characters come out of the woodwork in this riotous tribute to life on the community theater stage. Even the pizza delivery boy is given parts – several since Margo only has four actors to portray the five-act tragedy. Fast lines and even faster exits punctuate this farce as Margo and her troupe of misguided actors find out what it’s like when they begin “Barbecuing Hamlet.”

DESCRIPTION:Tickets on sale NOW! Show will be held at Orrville High School. \nOrrville Community Theater Rising Stars is pleased to announce our Rising Stars Show! \nDirected by:\nCo-Director – Kara Seiler\nCo-Director: Angie Gilbert \n\nSynopsis:\nA kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four obnoxious\, bratty\, adult children who do not live up to their royal titles. There’s the mean Princess Cinnamon\, the not-so-bright Princess Peppermint\, the vain Prince Hairgel\, and Prince Slacker\, who thinks being a prince is just way\, way too hard. The king and queen try everything to bring happiness and harmony to their family. They hire a royal therapist\, bring in royal teachers\, and even attempt to marry off their children\, all to no avail. The king and queen are ready for a happily-ever-after that doesn’t include adult children still living at home\, so they call upon the fairy godmother to help. However\, after learning the outrageous cost of hiring the fairy godmother (let alone the permits required)\, the king and queen decide to create a do-it-yourself magic spell with the help of supplies purchased at The Enchanted Depot. SUMMARY:Auditions - Barbecuing Hamlet
DESCRIPTION:Orrville Community Theater announces auditions for “Barbecuing Hamlet” by Pat Cook \nDirectors Glenn Gregory & Tracy Lemus Santos are seeking adults (18+) with any level of theater experience (including none) to audition for this fast-paced\, hilarious Shakespearan farce! \nAUDITION INFORMATION\nAuditions will be March 11 & 12 from 6-9 PM at Krackpots Comedy Club (14 Lincoln Way W\, Massillon\, OH 44647). \nAll auditions will be a 15 minute closed audition with the directors. All auditioners should prepare a memorized 1-minute monologue of any style! You may be asked to perform a cold read from the script. \nPlease sign-up for an audition spot using the Sign-Up Genius link provided at the end of the post. \nWalk-ins are also welcome! \nPlease plan to arrive 15 minutes before your audition time to fill out the application packet. You may bring a resume and headshot but you are required to do so. \nREHEARSAL INFORMATION\nOur general rehearsal schedule will begin March 18th. We will rehearse on Mondays and Tuesdays at Krackpots from 6:00-8:30 pm. * Please note that our technical rehearsal week will be at the performance location. \nWe will also have a special Wednesday rehearsal on both April 3 and May 1 – the times for each will be determined by the cast. \nPERFORMANCE INFORMATION\nOur performances will be May 16-18\, 2024 (Thursday\, Friday & Saturday) at 7:00 pm at Christ United Church of Christ (310 N. Main St. Orrville\, OH 44667). Our tech week rehearsal (May 13-15) will also be at this location. Fast lines and even faster exits punctuate this farce as Margo and her troupe of misguided actors find out what it’s like when they begin “Barbecuing Hamlet.” \nTime: The present.
